JOB TITLE: Machine Operator
OMCO Solar is seeking experienced Roll Form Operators. Machine operators will be producing custom mounting structures for the utility solar power industry. You will be responsible for running the mill, troubleshooting, inspecting parts, maintaining specifications, and performing routine maintenance.
The Machine Operator position requires the ability to work on your feet and have a strong mechanical aptitude. We provide a competitive wage, generous benefits, and advancement opportunities. In return we ask for a great attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to maintain good attendance.
The shift is Monday-Thursday, 4am-2:30pm.
- Formal training in mechanical or technical discipline is preferred or equivalent experience.
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Experience using charts, interpreting blueprints, schedules, and touchscreens.
- General knowledge of measuring tools and gauges.
You should expect to stand for 10-hour shifts.
You must be able to lift, carry, push and or pull 25 lbs. frequently without assistance or 50 lbs. with assistance.
Ability to squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequently.
English fluency is necessary for receiving proper training in process operation, safety practices and communicating with other departments.
Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
Basic computer skills.
General math skills.

The primary responsibility of this position to move completed products and raw material from/to the lines from/to designated areas. The completed products and/or materials must be carefully placed and stacked in designated area accurately and free of damage, including interior and exterior of building or loaded onto trucks. Must also move & unload delivered pallets and carefully place in designated areas.
SHIFT IS 4am-2:30pm Monday-Thursday
Responsibilities:
- Maintains the standard flow of materials according to specified routes whether in receiving, in process or shipping.
- Performs the daily safety check sheets and reports findings of unsafe conditions or routine maintenance needed.
- Handles scrap disposition and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Moves pallets from the line with a forklift and places them in designated areas for additional work or to be loaded.
- Loads and unloads trucks and trailers using proper documentation.
- Operates the forklift in a safe and responsible manner as to not jeopardize equipment, product or employees.
- Performs accurate inventory counts.
- Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area, including the forklift.
- Follows guidance from supervisor and assumes other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Must become licensed by OMCO’s Forklift Trainer.
- Must have the ability to count product and complete simple paperwork. Basic math and writing skills; able to read and heed warning labels.
- Good understanding of the manufacturing flow.
- Good understanding of pull systems and buffer management.
- Must have a good sense of urgency and accuracy.

This role is nearly 100% travel and will support our projects nationwide. We are looking for individuals who enjoy travel projects and don’t mind being away from home for an extended period.
Description
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for training installation teams, verification and commissioning of new and existing OMCO products at photovoltaic power plants.
Working Conditions
Work at each site can range from a couple to several days until work is complete. This position will report to the Phoenix facility when not traveling. Work performed will be outdoors, often at remote sites. Conditions may range from high temperatures to snow, wind and rain.
Essential Job Duties
- Train installation teams on best Means & Methods of installation. Training may occur onsite, over web conferencing or phone or a combination of the three.
- Work with Installation teams on verification of Golden Row.
- Perform start-up and commissioning for new installations.
- Inspect physical installation (wiring, connections and mechanical condition).
- Power up, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical issues, onsite and over the phone.
- Perform mechanical, electrical or software repairs to job sites.
- Write reports and keep records of findings.
- Monitor performance and efficiency levels.
- Frequent travel to and from job sites.
Minimum Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or associates preferred
- 2 year’s industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic electromechanical concepts
- Basic computer skills, and experience with Microsoft Office
- Aptitude to understand, read, and comprehend, plans, and specifications
- Experience using industry specific tools safely, including but not limited to pliers, crimps, strip tools, testers, and screwdrivers
- Proven ability to work independently
- Proven teamwork skills
- Great interpersonal, oral and written skills.
- Requires analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Lifting, up to 50 lbs
