Project Manager

The Project Manager works under the guidance of the Senior Leadership team in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of resources, timelines, costs, means and methods, and aspects of risk for the Tracker and Fixed Tilt solar rack projects.

These activities are carried out along with internal functions across the different OMCO facilities as well with external vendors involving the development of new components, fabrication of prototype parts, executing test procedures and validations, obtaining quotes from vendors, and assisting in their selection, and similar activities.

This position also supports production operations with industrial engineering, product introduction, and continual improvement activities

Some travel may be required.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Track performance of the different tasks in the plan ensuring that they stay on target and that they are executed in the right sequence to meet milestone deadlines.
  • Communicate when deviations occur, assist in identifying alternate plans of action that retake the timing and cost of the project.
  • Regularly monitors cost targets and coordinates actions to stay on target.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and that stay on track
  • Assists other functions with: fabrication of prototype parts in house as well as external shops; sourcing special parts and ordering them; conducting tests, preparing their reports, etc.
  • Maintains reports to update management of status of projects and to manage the details of costs, timing, execution, etc.
  • Determine materials needed and arrange proper sourcing.
  • Develops comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in project management techniques including use of PM software.
  • Experience in cost analysis, specifically target costing.
  • Knowledgeable about the different manufacturing processes involved in the fabrication of the solar racks.
  • Experience with process improvement, manufacturing engineering, and inventory control

Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an entry level Electrical Engineer to join our team for the development and optimization of solar tracker controllers. As part of our dynamic engineering team, you will contribute to the design, testing, validation and implementation of our solar tracker control system technologies including tracker controller, sensors and the main Array Controller.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, be eager to learn, and have a passion for renewable energy technologies. You will be part of a team that includes senior electrical engineers, software and firmware engineers, electrical engineer technician and other departments to bring an innovative solar tracker control system solution to production and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of solar tracker controllers, ensuring that designs meet performance and safety standards. Including supporting development of system requirement documentation, and system implementation documentation.
  • Circuit Design: Support the development of circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and PCB layouts for solar tracking systems using tools such as Altium. Circuit simulation using tools such as LTspice and MATLAB. Writing up report document based on simulation results with clear summaries of key findings.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solar tracker controllers with other components, such as sensors and motor drive systems. Work closely with firmware engineers to develop hardware and firmware interface documentation. Providing support documentation for a cloud monitoring portal.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes and production units, identifying and resolving issues efficiently and creating clear documentation stating findings. Be familiar with working in lab environments and using lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscope, function generator, and handheld tools (cutting pliers, cramping tools).
  • Firmware and Software: Assist in the development and optimization of embedded systems, including firmware programming and real-time control algorithms for solar tracking devices.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from testing to improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure that designs comply with relevant industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.

BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles.
  • Candidate should be coachable while being assertive and independent
  • Experience: 0-1 year of professional experience in electrical design, renewable energy, or control systems (college courses and internship/ co-op experience can be considered in lieu of professional experience).

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of circuit design, electrical components, and power systems for low voltage and or high voltage systems
  • Proficient in completing engineering calculations, including load summaries, breaker sizes, voltage drop, and fault current on low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Lab tools (power supply, functional generator, soldering iron, logic analyzer, network analyzer)
  • Good understanding of the NFPA 70E National Electrical Code
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.
  • Experience with CAD tools for schematic design (e.g.Altium).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with embedded systems or motor control systems.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and industry trends.

Inside Sales Specialist

We are seeking a proactive and results driven Inside Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing sales leads, incoming quote requests, and managing OMCO sales platforms through a combination of inside sales tactics and attendance at trade shows and industry events.

Field Service Technician

This role is nearly 100% travel and will support our projects nationwide. We are looking for individuals who enjoy travel projects and don’t mind being away from home for an extended period.‍

Description
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for training installation teams, verification and commissioning of new and existing OMCO products at photovoltaic power plants.

Working Conditions
Work at each site can range from a couple to several days until work is complete. This position will report to the Phoenix facility when not traveling. Work performed will be outdoors, often at remote sites. Conditions may range from high temperatures to snow, wind and rain.

Essential Job Duties

  • Train installation teams on best Means & Methods of installation. Training may occur onsite, over web conferencing or phone or a combination of the three.
  • Work with Installation teams on verification of Golden Row.
  • Perform start-up and commissioning for new installations.
  • Inspect physical installation (wiring, connections and mechanical condition).
  • Power up, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical issues, onsite and over the phone.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical or software repairs to job sites.
  • Write reports and keep records of findings.
  • Monitor performance and efficiency levels.
  • Frequent travel to and from job sites.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree or associates preferred
  • 2 year’s industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic electromechanical concepts
  • Basic computer skills, and experience with Microsoft Office

Forklift Driver
Description
The primary responsibility of this position to move completed products and raw material from/to the lines from/to designated areas. The completed products and/or materials must be carefully placed and stacked in designated area accurately and free of damage, including interior and exterior of building or loaded onto trucks. Must also move & unload delivered pallets and carefully place in designated areas.‍

Shift is Monday – Thursday, 4:00am – 2:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the standard flow of materials according to specified routes whether in receiving, in process or shipping.
  • Performs the daily safety check sheets and reports findings of unsafe conditions or routine maintenance needed.
  • Handles scrap disposition and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Moves pallets from the line with a forklift and places them in designated areas for additional work or to be loaded.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and trailers using proper documentation.
  • Operates the forklift in a safe and responsible manner as to not jeopardize equipment, product or employees.
  • Performs accurate inventory counts.
  • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area, including the forklift.
  • Follows guidance from supervisor and assumes other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must become licensed by OMCO’s Forklift Trainer.
  • Must have the ability to count product and complete simple paperwork. Basic math and writing skills; able to read and heed warning labels.
  • Good understanding of the manufacturing flow.
  • Good understanding of pull systems and buffer management.
  • Must have a good sense of urgency and accuracy.

Machine Operator

Description
OMCO Solar is seeking experienced Roll Form Operators. Machine operators will be producing custom mounting structures for the utility solar power industry. You will be responsible for running the mill, troubleshooting, inspecting parts, maintaining specifications, and performing routine maintenance.‍

The Machine Operator position requires the ability to work on your feet and have a strong mechanical aptitude. We provide a competitive wage, generous benefits, and advancement opportunities. In return we ask for a great attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to maintain good attendance.

Shift is Monday – Thursday, 4:00am – 2:30pm

Qualifications:

  • Formal training in mechanical or technical discipline is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • Experience using charts, interpreting blueprints, schedules, and touchscreens.
  • General knowledge of measuring tools and gauges.
  • You should expect to stand for 10-hour shifts.
  • You must be able to lift, carry, push and or pull 25 lbs. frequently without assistance or 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequently.
  • English fluency is necessary for receiving proper training in process operation, safety practices and communicating with other departments.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
