“Working with OMCO Solar has become second nature. They know exactly what we want and we haven’t had to continually repeat ourselves. Sometimes you work with a vendor over and over again, and it seems like you’re having to teach the wheel every time. With OMCO Solar, we are in synch, and we continue moving forward, bringing clean energy to the communities that need it the most.”

How We Work Together

OMCO Solar has partnered with Coldwell Solar on more than 50 racking and tracking projects. One of their first and most memorable projects was the 11.4-MW Red Bluff solar array for a commercial client in Tehama County, California. The installation employed the OMCO Choice™ Factory-Direct Mounting System. Coldwell Solar Project Manager Steven Chambers says the installation’s aggressive timeline necessitated a high level of collaboration to meet its deadline.

In the end, the teams were successful in completing their largest project together to date. “It’s a jewel on the crown of OMCO Solar and Coldwell Solar,” he said.

From there, the partners worked together on dozens of other projects, leveraging Choice as well as OMCO Origin™ Factory-Direct Trackers. On a typical 1-MW project, OMCO Solar and Coldwell Solar enabled end-customers to offset nearly 1,200 metric tons of carbon dioxide (equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from 262 passenger vehicles over a year).

How Customers Benefit

Chambers says OMCO Solar’s consistent communication has always been an important factor in their success. “Every step, they would check in to make sure things were proceeding smoothly. That continuity has helped us improve as we partnered on more projects together.”The alignment is especially critical in agricultural projects in which solar must be aesthetically pleasing and economic enough for growers to incorporate the technology into their life’s work.

Chambers says it really comes down to economics for their commercial clients considering going solar. “By installing solar, they can save each month and divert resources to more pressing needs. Many of our clients have diversified businesses, some of which have been hit hard in this economy and can save money by getting solar. We work very hard to size the system just right so that they don’t have to worry about utility bills during hard times.”

Rewards of Partnership

Ryan O’Keefe, Sales Manager at OMCO Solar, is grateful for having completed so many successful projects in partnership with Coldwell Solar. “It’s rewarding to be able to work with such a valued partner. Together, we bring our nation’s growers and other important industrial players a way to save on electricity costs, and often, to generate additional revenue,” he said. “We look forward to continuing to work with Coldwell Solar to bring renewable energy to more businesses and organizations across the U.S.”
